World Domination
There has always been a drive in mankind for world domination. It stems from that early creation moment when God declared, "Let us make man in Our image according to Our likeness; let them have dominion ... over all the earth ... ." The problem entered when Satan convinced man to do things his own way. However, God wants His creation to run according to His plan, not according to Satan's plan or even man's plan. Thus began the struggle of will's that has been going on ever since. It's why Jesus taught us to pray, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven".
Down through the ages Satan has tried to bring forth his plan for world domination through many leaders: Nebuchadnezzar, Cyrus, Alexander, Caesar, just to name a few of the more successful ones. In my generation there has been Hitler, Stalin, and Mao Tse Tung. All have failed, after causing much havoc and destruction, but Satan hasn't given up and there will be others to come right down to the final epiphany of the Beast of Revelation 13:
"Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." - Revelation 13:6-8
He will be so convincing in speech and power that the world will say, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war with him?" But, there are two facts about him to remember; (1) His authority is limited for a short time and God simply uses him to test people to see how they will choose - God's will or the Devil's, and (2) he must have a group of followers who support him, especially financially.
"He (the 2nd beast) causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free or slave, to receive the mark of the beast ... and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast (the 1st beast), or the number of his name (666)." - Revelation 13:16-17
This will require the technology and financial system needed to control the world's buying and selling. So, over the last decades we have seen the development of computers and chip technology that can do exactly what the Bible predicted thousands of years ago. And we have seen the development of a World Banking system that can regulate how money is used. There will always be the underground bartering that goes on but it will be small and ineffective for controlling nations.
The one big roadblock to the "one-world" proponents is the United States with its Biblical foundations for doing business. However, that is about to change as a recent Heritage Foundation article titled A Budget for a European Welfare State analyzing President Obama's 2010 budget reveals:
Commenting on the President Obama's budget, Rep. Ryan tells National Review Online: "This budget presents a choice of two futures. ... This budget is about more than specific programs or policies. It is really about the American idea, and whether we want to move towards a European-style welfare state." Or as then-California Gov. Ronald Reagan put it in a slightly different context over 40 years ago: "This is the issue of this election: Whether we believe in our capacity for self-government or whether we abandon the American revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far-distant capitol can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves."
Am I saying that President Obama is the antichrist? Certainly not, but I am saying that behind the scenes forces are moving to set the stage for the revealing of such a character and one Bible verse aught to make most Christians very alert about this:
"It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them." - Revelation 13:7
I believe our nation was founded as Christian nation. If that is true, then every part of our society should reflect Biblical standards and that includes our banking system and our marketing system. Even if we have no money in the bank, we should be very concerned that big government control, which will lead to one-world control, does not take over our banking system.
