The Prophetic Time Line

1.
Creation
Many believe that the creation itself is prophetic. God created the heavens and the earth in 6 days, then He rested on the 7th. This represents 6000 years of man's history and 1000 year of God's rest, which is the millennial reign of Christ. "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." - 2 Peter 3:8 The Old Testament would cover 4 days and the New Testament covers the remaining 3 days. |
2. Feasts of the Lord
The Feasts of the LORD were given to Israel in Leviticus
23. They are the testimony of God's faithful working on behalf of mankind
and they are prophetic reminders of God's promises to us. They all focus on
one person, the Messiah. The foundational feast is Passover and all the
others develop out of it. |
3. Hosea's Timeline "Come let return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence." - Hosea 6:1, 2 This word begins with the founding of the New Testament church. The first two days represent the 'times of the Gentiles' Jesus spoke about in Luke 21:24 during which the Jews were dispersed from Israel. During most of the Church Age, Israel was dispersed and persecuted, culminating in the Holocaust. After 1948, when Israel became a nation once again, the Church began a metamorphosis into the 'one new man' of Ephesians 2:6. Both believing Jew and believing Gentile began coming together as God intended to become the new Church. The third day begins with the 2nd coming of Messiah Jesus and covers His 1000 year millennial reign. Just before this 3rd day, Israel is re-gathered and like the fig tree, begins to bloom and bud out - Matthew 24:32-35. |
4. The Fig Tree Buds
Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door." - Jesus Most students of prophesy agree that this is a reference to the re-emergence of Israel as a nation. The prophet Amos declares, "and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God." - Amos 9:15 The prophet Isaiah declares, "And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth." - Isaiah 11:1 This is why why what happens in Israel is of such interest. It is an end-time signal to us.
