The Lord's Coming will Reveal All
"Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives in men's hearts." - 1 Cor 4.5
"If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work." - 1 Cor 3.13
Paul uses this fact as motivation for believers to flee all worldly vices purifying themselves and thus honoring God with their body: "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." - 1 Cor 5.9-10. If we are found in any of these vices when the Lord comes, we will not inherit the kingdom of God!
Does this mean we are perfect? No, it means we have a heart that desires to be perfectly pleasing to God and that we call out to Him to perfect this work in us.
We must understand that we are three-fold in nature: body, soul, and spirit. It is our spirit that meets with God, but, what we do in body affects our soul, and what our soul does affects our spirit, either to weaken it or strengthen it. This is why Paul says, "Therefore honor God with your body." - 1 Cor 6.20
