A MESSAGE TO ALL THOSE SO-CALLED CHRISTIANS WHO VOTED FOR OBAMA
President Obama recently declared to Muslims, "We are not a Christian nation." In light of his further statements to Turkish Muslims, "I am one of you" and his obvious bowing to the Saudi King, I am led to question his understanding of America and wonder if he himself is not a 'stealth' Muslim who realized he could never be elected if he revealed who he really is?
Last night I attended a Passover Seder and celebrated the coming of our Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ. Passover begins the Spring Feasts of Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, and Pentecost, all of which were fulfilled exactly by Jesus. In two days, we will celebrate First Fruits on which Jesus rose from the grave, commonly called Resurrection Day, or Easter. Fifty days after this, the Holy Spirit was sent to the Church on Pentecost. While these 'appointed times' of the Lord should have rich meaning for every Christian, we should not forget here in America that, because of these happenings some 2000 years ago, our forefathers first came to America to freely practice this faith in Jesus.
David Limbaugh recently wrote concerning Obama's declaration that we are no longer a Christian nation,
So is (or was) America a Christian nation? If by that we mean that America is a Christian theocracy, that our government should give Christians preferential treatment, or that members of other faiths aren't welcome, the answer is an emphatic "no."
But if we are talking about the ideals that led to the very colonization of this land, our declaration of independence from Britain, and the formulation of our Constitution, then the answer is certainly "yes."
In the words of professor John Eidsmoe, "If by the term Christian nation one means a nation that was founded on biblical values that were brought to the nation by mostly professing Christians, then in that sense the United States may truly be called a Christian nation."
This principle is elucidated in the Virginia Bill of Rights of 1776:
"Religion, or the duty which we owe to our creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be directed only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence; and therefore all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion, according to the dictates of conscience; and this is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forbearance, love, and charity towards each other."
Remember, the term 'religion' in the 18th century almost always was interpreted to mean Christianity. It is also worth noting that the 'forbearance' mentioned here is only found where the Christian religion is primary. Noah Webster, in his 1828 American Dictionary, stated -
"In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed...No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people."
However, in spite of the clear undistorted historical evidence of our Christian national heritage, we see an almost daily attack against Christian principles and morality in America. President Obama has just given support to these attacks before the world. I wonder if the Saudi King would come to the United States and repudiate Islam? He would not be king long if he did. There is no 'forbearance' for other religions there! Obama's recent statements are ill-thought out at best, but even worse is the betrayal of our Passover Lamb by those who bear His name! How did they betray Him? They voted for Obama knowing he stands against the very principles Jesus espoused. Jesus stated clearly, "If you love me, keep my commands". Christians cannot pick and choose which of His commands we will keep and which we will not! If we try, we make ourselves lords instead of Him.
To all you so-called Christians who voted for President Obama, I call on you to repent. You have placed the hope of political gain or financial gain or racial gain above the clear commands of Scripture. You have preferred a man who will not prefer your Lord before Islam. If you do not repent, the day will come when your Lord will be ashamed of you as well before His Father .
