Christian Martyrs Today
"The blood of the martyrs" is a well known phrase among Christians, but, few realize that more Christians are being persecuted and dieing today than ever before. Political correctness doesn't allow most news outlets to talk about it though, because it is mostly being done by Muslims. Recently, three schoolgirls in Indonesia were tortured and beheaded by Muslims. As American Muslims complain about President Bush using the term "Islamic extremists" while they enjoy unparalleled freedom in the United States, Christians cannot openly carry a Bible in Saudi Arabia. Arab Christians in Palestinian areas are persecuted and forced to leave by Arab Muslims, even from the birth place of Jesus - Bethlehem! Brother Andrew's Open Doors documents Christian persecution around the world in his World Watch List for 2007, and it has only gotten worse! North Korea leads the list with some 50,00 Christians in jail or killed for their faith.
Jesus said, "If the hated Me, they will hate you." and Paul said, "All who live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." As Christians, we are required to love our enemies. But, we are not restricted from speaking the truth. Neither are we restricted from protecting and saving the innocent.
