Loving Jesus
Toward the end of His
earthly ministry, Jesus began teaching about His second return. Understandably,
the disciples were upset, thinking He had come to restore God's kingdom to earth
then. Peter even began rebuking Him for saying that He was to be crucified (John
12:34, Matthew 16:22). Even today, it is hard for people to get past the 'here
and now' to think about the future. Perhaps that is why so few care to hear
about the Bible's prophetic messages. But, prophecy is the spiritual adrenaline
that keeps us focused on the way ahead. The Apostle Paul summed up his life in
these words -
"I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award me on that day-- and not only to me, but also to all those who have longed for His appearing." (2 Timothy 4:8).
He thought of Christian life as a race and he was focused on the end. Jesus had this view also:
"Let us fix our eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2).
Prophecy prepares us for what is coming and declares the rewards to be given to those who are faithful to the end.
Some Christians today have no time for prophecy saying they just want to concentrate on Jesus, but, God declares "the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy" (Revelations 19:10). If you really have a love for Jesus you will automatically love to study prophecy and, the right approach to the study of prophecy will result in testimony for Jesus because it will encourage us to be more conformed to Him.
My goal in constructing this web site is to reveal Jesus in prophecy and to heighten our excitement for His return as we see the prophetic signposts God has left us appearing before our eyes. Prophetic speculations abound around events yet future but, when a prophetic signpost appears, it is clear to everyone who is looking.
God's final judgment has not yet begun, but man's sin has natural and spiritual consequences. God, who has all wisdom can foretell these as well as His own works, and they also can be signposts for us to recognize.
Enjoy this web site and may it cause you to see Jesus more clearly.
